Sexual Health
Sexuality is a normal, lifelong, physical and emotional function of human life. It is known that most adults believe that sexual health plays an important role in quality of life with most finding that sexual difficulties can lead to emotional distress and relationship problems.
Sexual Concerns
Dr Ros Boa pays close attention to medical factors or chronic illness, and psychological, behavioural, relationship and cultural factors – all of which may affect sexual intimacy. Ros’s approach to both individual and couple care is holistic, incorporating mindfulness-based interventions. She treats patients with sexual concerns or difficulties relating to sexual intimacy, particularly in the following areas:
Female Sexual Concerns
- Sexual pain or vaginismus (inability to have sexual intercourse or pain with intercourse)
- Low libido or desire
- Orgasmic disorders
Male Sexual Concerns
- Erectile dysfunction
- Premature ejaculation
- Delayed ejaculation
- Low libido or desire
Couples
- Desire discrepancy
Ros encourages consultations with couples and provides extended consultation time so that appropriately thorough sessions are conducted.
In certain cases, where it is necessary, she may involve a multidisciplinary team.
